The town of Písek has decided to cancel its large-scale events in the first half-year of 2020: Dragon Boat Race on May 15-16, cultural programme of the sand sculptures festival planned for May 22-24 and Town Festival scheduled for June 12-13. The organizers are considering organizing smaller-scale events in the autumn term, depending, among other things, on the current situation and possibilities for implementation.

On the contrary, the sand sculptures were built. Works on the theme of “777 YEARS OF THE TOWN OF PÍSEK” decorate the Otava River near the Stone Bridge in the open air gallery since May 22. A traditional outdoor exhibition was also opened in the adjacent Čechova Street, this time presenting the town of Písek and its inhabitants in (historical) photography.
